So we stayed home and had a great Thanksgiving anyway! Dinner's eaten, the kitchen is clean and the dishwasher's going, waiting to have some homemade apple pie (not big fans of pumpkin pie here).

BBC - Still got some of those big mixing machines, and they claim a few more fingers each year.
That's because the monkeys are not careful enough. As a man that has worked trades all his life I can assure you that only those that are sharp and careful around machines can keep all their fingers.
I have of course came close to losing one a time or two, but they healed fast and I still have full use of all of them.
And thankfully, I learned how to type in school so I can just go on and on.
I trust that you had a good thanksgiving.
When I was an XO I told my Chief and Leading Culinary Specialist (we don't call them Mess Specialists anymore!) that if any of their Sailors were unsafe enough to lose a finger, I'd break theirs. Fortunately, I never had a chance to make good on that threat - because then they would have seen what a softie I was...
